Read more...Good Morning, that it is! I woke this morning to the best surprise! I did my usual routine of checking the email & I had 6 emails on my aol account, which is unheard of. (My usual account is yahoo.) So I opened each one and the very last one was from Shaui from Fei-Fei's Stuff @ Oscraps, seems I have WON her challenge!!! WOO HOO, I couldn't believe it! & I'm on cloud nine! I had a tough day yesterday. I have been working on a digital scrapbooking kit & I thought it was going well. It's been a work in progress for awhile now. It includes 10 papers, 2 elements, & a frame. So I thought to myself, "I think I have enough to make a layout, just to see what it looks like together." so I gave it a try......well, let's just say it didn't work out to well. I had a major melt down. It didn't look good, at all. I was so disappointed. I started crying & I was thinking "Gosh I have been working on this for over a year & I can't even make paper look right." I thought maybe I should just give up. Maybe this is a lot harder than I thought & it's just not for me. I was so so heart broken. My dream may never come true. From that point I went to a few of my favorite designers websites and looked in awe of their work, even now more bummed out than I was before. By then I had a huge headache too.
"How do they make this stuff?"
"It looks so good."
"Why can't I do that?"
I started just looking around the web & I ran into a video of Ellen & Oprah of all things! If your familiar with that whole situation, Ellen had a goal to be on the cover of O magazine. So Oprah contacted Ellen live on Ellen's show and this is what she told her:
I started balling. Tears rolling down my face, I thought "I have a dream!!!! A goal, it's a big goal & I WANT IT" & THAT'S WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN!!! Love it, such inspiration! So, yeah I know it's not going to be easy, but I'm more pumped than ever! Financially, it's going to be hard because I need so much, but that's life & I'm in no hurry. I am so anxious to start my own digital scrapbooking line. It is taking forever. I never thought that it would take this long, then again I am such a perfectionist, nothing is good enough. At this rate, the only thing I'll be coming out with is papers! Which is fine, lots of designers give/sell paper packs! My big hold up right now is probably elements. I find inspiration everywhere, but how do you recreate it on photoshop? There are tutorials everywhere, but not really for the type of design I need. Many are for photography & website design. I don't know, I play around, which I think is helpful! I think I would like to take some online classes for digital scrapbooking, we'll see!
I have been working on my name & logo, which is fun! My heart wants this so bad! Like my title, I'm so ready, but I totally am not! The idea is there, but that's all it is! [Sad face]. It's ok, my hard work will pay off, I just know it! I have another goal, which is to get on a CT. I don't know if it would help, but it sure looks fun! Well, that's that, for now! Yay, it's Halloween! I'm so excited! We have a change in plans this weekend, but I'm still happy! We have to go and get a headband for Alex for her Snow White costume, we have two pumpkins to carve, Halloween Cupcakes to bake, and then of course I must get her ready and myself ready to go Trick or Treating! Woo Hoo, it's gonna be alot of fun! Have a happy and safe Halloween! Alex is going to be Snow White for Halloween! The other day I wanted to try out a tutorial from Kandee Johnson, on Snow White, but Alex's hair is way to thin. I was so bummed because the hair was so dead on! So, I just curled her hair and put a ribbon in it! I think she looks adorable!
I'm so excited for Halloween, Nick's mom, Karla, is coming over and we're going to make Halloween Cupcakes! It should be alot of fun. Friday we are going to go see Michael Jackson's movie "This is it", which I heard is really good from a friend who got to go see it Tuesday night. I'm so excited and I know Alex is going to love it!
So yeah that's what going on for the weekend! My mom is supposed to come over for the first time on Sunday, but I won't hold my breath, being that she rarely follows through on things, but I have my finger's crossed! So, thanks for stopping by, God Bless!

For some reason the weekend seemed so long and we didn't even really go anywhere or do our "to do" lists! LOL! Oh well, it's over and I'm glad it's Monday! Nick went back to work and it's just me and my daughter! Things are going well, Alex finally got her mattress and we were able to put her new bed together along with the bedspread we bought months ago! I wanted to put the matching curtains up, but we got the measurements wrong, so well wait on that. We also got her these really cute wall sticker's that go with her bedspread, but those didn't make it up yet! It's almost done though!<3
We did manage to go to best buy and get a new DVD player and charger for our laptop, finally!
Let me tell you a bit about this charger.......Originally we had the charger that came with the computer, well it broke, don't remember how though! Anywho, we went down to best buy and looked for a new one. They only had one brand, which was a universal charger. It was up there in price, but we really needed one. So, we bought it. A few months later it broke. So we took it back and they were great and let us exchange it. Five months later we were back with a broken charger. They were kind enough to give us another one, but the price went up and we had to pay the difference. A few months later, to our surprise, it broke. This time I contacted the manufacture and they replied quickly and with in a week I had the part I needed. Well, again a few months later it broke.
I cant' believe that we had gone through 4 charger's in a little over a year. Amazing. At this point, I'm steaming. We use our computer everyday, not to mention, these bad boys are expensive. So, I wrote them again and they are sending me another part, but it they had to wait for their shipment to come in, so I was looking for about a 3 week wait, HA! So, I was looking around the place and found the receipt from the last time we dealt with best buy, and I found it. When Nick got home I told him that we should go to best buy and tell them we need a new charger, since it hadn't even been a year since we got the last one. So, off we went and they gave us a $160 gift card! We bought a new DVD player and Charger! Ha, it was awesome! So we're happy campers!
Designing has really been put on hold due to the charger not working. But now that we have a new one I'd really like to start again. Well that's about it, Thank you for stopping by and God Bless!
